Lighthouse, the company building the open metaverse navigation engine, is proud to announce the launch of the XR-friendly version of its web application. The new version of the site has been optimized for XR access, enhancing the user experience and providing seamless access to XR-friendly metaverse applications.
Building a XR-friendly web application is part of Lighthouse’s mission of making the open metaverse accessible to a broader audience. WebXR proposes itself as an alternative to the application distribution chokehold imposed by hardware manufacturers. By promoting and simplifying the adoption of the only truly free digital distribution channel, the web, Lighthouse aims to empower users to access the metaverse without being limited by platform restrictions or limited storage space on their devices, while supporting creators from all sizes to generate revenue without being imposed extractive take rates.
In addition to the launch of its XR-friendly web application, Lighthouse is proud to announce a partnership with Zesty, the premier ad network for XR-enabled applications. This partnership will allow Lighthouse to convert part of Zesty’s extensive billboard network into cross-world portals directly in-world, making it easier for users to navigate the metaverse and discover new virtual experiences.
"At Lighthouse, we are committed to our mission of simplifying metaverse discovery and making it accessible to everyone," said Jonathan Brun, CEO of Lighthouse. "With the launch of our XR-friendly web application and partnership with Zesty, we are taking a big step forward in achieving that goal and providing a more inclusive and accessible metaverse experience for all. We are also delighted to work with Elijah and the Zesty team."
“Zesty is currently the only way for metaverse apps to reach a potential audience of almost 30 million users while they are inside XR headsets such as the Meta Quest 2 and Bytedance’s Pico 4,” said Elijah Tai, CEO of Zesty. “We’re excited to partner with Lighthouse to begin navigating over 300,000 users per month to XR-compatible virtual worlds being aggregated and curated by Lighthouse, and it’s been a pleasure working with Jonathan, Justine and the Lighthouse team.”
